Religious Girls - “OG”
LIKE A PRAYER
Religious Girls has restored my faith in good music, or should I say in good bands? It’s not enough to write good music anymore. It’s all about presentation, and these Oakland natives know how to put on a good show. It’s clear that they’re giving it everything they’ve got because about a minute into a set, everyone has sweated out ten percent of his water weight. I can’t really describe their sound. It’s the kind of music that seeps into you, that recalibrates your heartbeat, that turns you into a soundwave reverberating in place, that is both inviting and inclusive and urges you to sing along from the very first listen, and that can only be properly experienced (at least once, but hopefully several times more) in person. Listen to their new track, “OG,” off the upcoming Midnight Realms 12” at the top of this post. They’re currently on their *~SHRED TILL WE DED~* tour, so you can check out their dates on Facebook and follow their tour Tumblr for a daily dose of shredding. Their last EP, Open Your Heart To Fantasy is available to download for free at Bandcamp.
P.S. These pictures were taken last Wednesday at their show in Irvine. Shout out to Acrobatics Everyday!
